Guild Wars 2
Guild Wars 2 is a game of ArenaNet, distributed by NCsoft, whose development was revealed in March 2007 and for which one or more meetings of public beta tests are planned. They were originally scheduled for late 2008 but were postponed to a date yet unknown [1]. The game's release date is not yet disclosed.
Little is currently known about GW 2 Gold, except it takes place 250 years after the events of Guild Wars and it is not possible to transfer characters from the first round. However it may be possible to unlock certain items, skills and rewards through the Hall of Monuments-Facts, available in Guild Wars Eye of the North, the last chapter of the original game.
Over 250 years have passed since [2] the victory of the hero on the Destroyers Guild Wars: Eye of the North, the world has changed and, in Tyria, the human species is no longer the predominant race. Besides the emergence of new races, several major disasters have befallen the continent. These disasters, most of them were caused by the revival of ancient dragons, creatures that can even compete with the gods, the first of which was Primordus who was behind the appearance of the shredders.
Humans around the world are refugees to Kryta despite a tidal wave, caused by the emergence of the kingdom engulfed Orr, who has destroyed the capital of Lion's Arch and submerged most of the coastal villages. The former site of Lion's Arch is now used as a basis for pirates, criminals and hackers of all kinds. It is even said that this place would be located in a portal to access the new pantheon of heroes. The new capital of humans is the Place of the Gods. The Norns were driven south to the land abandoned for the transformation of the Dwarves, by awakening the dragon of ice. They are now at war against the Dredge. The Charr have finally conquered the kingdom of Ascalon, which formerly belonged to them, long before humans appeared there. They now face another huge dragon. The Sylvari coming to be born of the tree planted by Ronan and guarded by Ventari begin to explore the world. For their part, the Asura are trying to get a place at the surface in offering their services to other breeds to link cities together through their network of portals (which will introduce the teleportation to move the character of a city the other once discovered, like in Guild Wars)
Tyria has lost contact with Cantha shortly after the continent had sunk into isolationism. A tyrannical emperor had indeed come to power by force and attached to the Empire factions thrall of Luxon and Kurzick. The seas between Tyria and Cantha are now covered by ghost ships, and nobody knows if life still exists on Cantha, the past several centuries. Contacts with Elona are broken since the king of the undead Palawa Joko has established its base in the Crystal Desert and conquered the land of the golden sun. The Sunspear have been hounded and persecuted throughout the country.
