i was looking at the nvidia 9600gt 1gb / 512mb and 9800gt 512mb but i dont know much about ATI are they better and cheaper or are they shocking.

I am not sure about the pricing in your area but around here it's $99. However, Overclockers have them for £86.99. Which sounds like a good price for you. Remember, this card comes with monthly driver support so make sure you check amd's home page monthly for updates in video card drivers.
