Will pumping air into an air space above water in a sealed tank increase water pressure?
I need to simulate water depth by increasing water pressure within a sealed tank. Will pumping compressed air into an air space above the water do this? If so, does the air pressure equal water pressure? I need to simulate up to 65psi (approx 30m deep).
Yes, this will work. Change in air pressure will equal chang in water pressure. So if your initial water pressure is 10 psi, you'd have to increase air pressure by 55 psi.
