What are some suggestions for the setup of my bass pedal board?
Any ideas? I have:
-Dunlop Crybaby Wah
-Boss Tuner
-Electro-Harmonix Metaphors
-Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi
-Boss Phase Shifter
-Boss Bass Synthesizer
-Boss Super Shifter
-Boss Noise Suppressor
-Line 6 Echo Park Delay
Thanks!
Pretty much how you have it listed. Generally the signal chain will go as follows:
Wah/Envelope Filter
Overdrive/Distortion
Compressor
Noise Suppressor
Phaser/Flanger/Chorus
Reverb/Delay
I would probably put the tuner in front of the wah, the Suppressor after the Big Muff, and the Delay last. I'm not sure what the Metaphors or the Synthesizer does, so I would experiment with those to see where they sound best. Hope this helps!

How did the rail road effect the native americans? in bad and good ways?
In Canada (not sure about the U.S.) the indigenous peoples were largely settled on reserves by the time of the Trans-Canada railway was completed, the majority of labour supplied on its construction was via 'Indians', I'd argue the railway affected everyone the same, greater commerce, widespread cheap travel and larger commercial targets.

Morpheus Capo Guitar Effects Pedal
$199.99
The Morpheus Capo guitar effects pedal lets you electronically capo your guitar and maintain perfect pitch. For example, play an E chord in standard tuning, then use the Capo pedal to up tune your guitar so the chord is changed to an F, F#, G, G#, A, Bb or B. In addition, the Capo pedal has Full Octave Up-Pitch and a great-sounding Octaver/12-string emulator that causes your 6-string to sound like a 12-string. The Morpheus Capo guitar pedal also features effect-toggling so you can instantly toggle back and forth between the up pitch and the Effect Off for a cool up-/down-pitch-shift effect during rapid ascending/descending arpeggios and scale runs. Don't mistake this for a mere pitch shift stompbox. The Morpheus Capo pedal uses proprietary polyphonic pitch-up algorithms that maintain perfect harmonic accuracy and tonally correct overtones—you have to hear this pedal to believe how real it sounds. With a cast metal chassis, solid positive-feeling steel step switches, and non-skid rubber feet, the Capo guitar pedal is solidly built for years of use and abuse. Includes LED indicators that are bright and easy to see.

Carl Martin Paraloop Guitar Effects Pedal
$189
Many guitarists find that, while an effects pedal can be helpful with creating and using innovative sounds, sometimes the natural sound of the instrument is compromised. Thanks to the Carl Martin Paraloop effects pedal, that digital sound can be controlled. The Paraloop is a single loop box with a mix control, designed for most amplifiers' serial loops. When used in conjunction with digital multi effects processors, the Carl Martin pedal brings out the guitar's natural analog tone. By simply running an effects pedal all wet (with effects engaged), then blending it with the Paraloop pedal's wet/dry control, the result is a more natural and blended tone, giving guitarists a balanced sound with added control over the effects. The Carl Martin Paraloop single loop effect pedal allows you to mix your dry analog tone with the digitally processed sounds of a multi effects processor, so that the guitar sounds more natural and less digitized.

BBE Tremor Tremolo Effect Pedal
$119.99
The BBE Tremor effect pedal is a dual-mode tremolo that uses an optical circuit to create a wide range of warm pulsating sounds normally associated with the "vibrato" effect of vintage tube amps. The tremolo pedal offers the flexibility of two independent speed controls that are foot switchable, enabling a player to select between a slow and fast tremolo at the stomp of a switch. An all-analog optical circuit creates the warm pulsating sounds associated with the "Vibrato" effect of sought-after vintage tube amps.Fat knurled knobs let you dial in your ultimate tone with your toes. The status LED light lets you see the BBE Tremor tremolo pedal is engaged even on a dimly lit stage. A non-skid pad on the bottom reduces movement, so you don't have to chase your pedal across the floor. True hardwire bypass switching ensures it has no effect on your tone when disengaged. The easy access battery compartment is included so you don't expose your circuitry every time you need to change the battery. The BBE Tremor effect pedal delivers pulsing, dynamically responsive tremolo that won't mask the tone of your guitar and amp. This tremolo pedal has three main controls: Speed 1, Speed 2, Depth dials, with a speed 1/2 switch, and a true hardware bypass switch. The Tremor pedal hosts a wide variety of applications. It sounds great when used with guitars, basses, and keyboards, delivering strong tremolo tone through your amp.

Softube Effect Bundle NATIVE Digital Download
$199.99
This Softube Effect Bundle includes their Acoustic Feedback, Tube Delay, and Spring Reverb plug-ins, giving you 3 simple-to-use software effects that'll give you plenty of ways to change the character of your sound. Acoustic Feedback The Acoustic Feedback plug-in from Softube allows you to release your inner beast with a very realistic guitar feedback simulator. Using simple controls, you get fully responsive vibratos, bends, slides, tremolos, and more. Go from moderate and subtle to rampant and wild with the simple twist of a knob (or two). It includes a stripped, but extremely useful, version of the White amp from Vintage Amp Room (only Master Volume and Mic position controls). To break new musical ground, you can try inputting a synthesizer, violin, or even your mother's grand piano. Acoustic Feedback is compatible with foot controls via MIDI and is available in native VST, AU and RTAS format for both Mac and PC. Tube Delay The Tube Delay plug-in is a marriage between analog and digital, combining the warmth and natural compression from tubes with the features and versatility of a digital delay. The effect is perfect for fattening vocal tracks, adding slapback echo to drums, or getting a gritty delay for guitars. Tube Delay gives you authentic tube simulation using the same technology as Softube's Amp Room products on both the dry and wet signal. In total, you get three different tube stages—in the direct, delayed, and feedbacked signal. It also provides vintage-style passive EQ with Bass and Treble that affects both the dry and the wet signal and also boosts the distortion popular in classic American guitar amps. Get delay time from 1 ms to 1 second with a host tempo sync option that sets the delay time from 16th notes to half notes with the triplets in between. Spring Reverb The Spring Reverb plug-in is an authentic spring reverb recreation that will add vintage character and grit to any audio track. It also includes novel features such as a fully automatable Shake control that will shake the virtual strings around for those thunderous spring effects, and a Tension control that tightens or loosens the springs to cover a wide range of spring reverb sounds. Springs Control the number of springs in use. There are three sets of springs in the reverb unit and you can choose how many of the sets you would like to use. Set the control to ONE for a more pronounced springy sound and to THREE for a smoother sound. Shake So you don't have to smack your computer to get that thunderous springs-being-shaken sound, Spring Reverb features a slider that can be used to accomplish the same thing safely. Tension Tune up or down the tension of all three springs. Adjusting the Tension parameter will change the sound of the strings

What is better: pedal effects or amp effects?
I have a Line 6 amp with built-in effects. Its a solid state amp that sounds pretty good. Its got 2 10" speakers running 100w (i think). Would I get better distortion with a pedal or by just tweaking the EQ and using onboard distortion?
A lot of players prefer the distortion a built in or external head has. Pedal distortions don't quite have the punch that a good solid head and amp would give you.
As for other effects such as delay, chorus, flanger, then a pedal would be the way to go.
Here's a nice Marshall Head that I use for my distortion. Having a separate head is nice, because you can always take your distortion with you without luggin around a giant amp.

The guitar effects processor comes with a classic collection of guitar effects, from must-have stompboxes to world-class rackmount studio processors. Eleven Rack has all the I/O flexibility you need to integrate it into your existing rig, and easily incorporate the tones you've recorded with into your live setupclosing the gap between studio and stage. Springfield 1911 single action, what causes the slide rack mechanism?
i've been asking a lot about guns recently, i know, i know.
Bottom line is i'm looking for a good first gun, Yes safety is a primary concern, but I will not have any bullets in the house EVER. The gun will be for target/training/hobby purposes only.
So anyway, since the 1911 is single action and requires the hammer to be cocked, then what causes the slide to rack after each fired round? I once thought the 1911 had to be manually cocked after each discharge, but after watching videos, it seems that there is a spring effect/gravity/inertia that is racking the slide just like a double action.
So I know single action does one thing, trigger pull, double action lifts hammer, and slams hammer, well then how does a single action handgun like a 1911 become a semi-auto if all the trigger does is single action? It must be the energy from the round which causes the slide back and picks up another round, essentially doing what a DA pistol does, right?
for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. The power generated by the rapid expansion of gases from the burning powder forces the bullet in one direction, and forces the slide back in the opposite direction. As the slide moves back it does several things, including forcing the hammer back to the full rearward position, the extractor which is contained in the slide draws the empty shell out of the chamber were it strikes the ejector, which forces out of the extractor claw and provides energy to eject it. As the slide is driven back forward by the recoil spring, it pushes against the base of the next cartridge in the magazine which then slides up the feed ramp and into the chamber as the slide returns to battery (fully closed and locked). other things also take place, but this should cover the questions you asked.
shoot safe
