I'm thinking of buying a Mesa/Boogie amp (either a dual rec or a lone star) I've heard of people who bought their amps and couldn't get a good sound out of it. Is this simply a matter of finding the right settings or is there anything I should know so as to prevent these issues from happening?

Which Mesa Boogie Combo should i get.?
set on a mesa boogie. need a combo pref 2x12.
ive looked @ the heartbreaker, tremo o verb and lone star.
i will be playing in a band that does originals (similar to us meets coldplay) and originals from the beetles to marvin gaye so i need one thats versitile and can handle giging well..
any suggestions will be greatly appriciated.

I have a Trem-o-verb head and it is super versatile! you can get anything from sparkling cleans, to brutal distortion, to vintage gain and even blues from the hey day. check 'em out on eBay or try to see if any local places have one.
