Which is a better configuration for server?
I am building a server with an asus ATX server motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.176798 . What do you recommend for the chassis and power supply? It will only have two or three drives in it and I prefer tower as I don't have a rack. I was looking at a Server Chassis/PS (TruePower Trio 650W power supply) on newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129027, but would like to go with something less expensive. I was thinking of getting a normal desktop case and PS such as this Roswill case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147125 , and this BFG Tech PS http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817702010 . I wasn't sure it was necessary to have a server chassis or if everything should fit and work right with the cheaper stuff (is a server atx standard the same as the PC atx standard?) Do you think the server chassis is a better buy for what you get? Thanks for all advice.
I'd say go with the first server chassis, it looks like the best deal.

Question about a pedal board for guitar?
i have been playing guitar for a while and a would like to buy my first pedal board. i want one that has a wah effect, delay, and can switch between heavy distortion and clean.
My first question is what would be a good one to buy, and how much do these cost approxamatley?
Second, if my amp does not have a delay effect, but the pedal board does, will the effect still work?
Sounds like you need to get a few things clarified.
A pedal board is referring to just the actual board you set your pedals on. They are very necessary, help keep things clean, pedals won't slide, and nice pedal boards eliminate the need of many surge protectors to get power to your pedals. A good pedal board is about $200. You can spend less than that, or more. It's up to you. I like Pedal Train, SKB, or Furman.
Now the poster above mentioned a multi effects pedal as opposed to a single effect pedal. Multi Effect Pedal has a whole bunch of effects on one board. They will run cheaper, than trying to buy each pedal individually. But they usually don't match in quality or the amount you can tweak the effect as you would with a single pedal. Multi Effect Pedals are anywhere from $100-$500. While the Single Pedals run $50-$250 usually.
So now to your questions:
1) You need to decide if you want to go single or multi. Since you are just starting out, I'd recommend a good multi effect pedal.
2) Yes it will work. You would plug your guitar into the delay pedal, then to your amp. So you'd have both the effects of the delay and the amp working on the overall sound.
Personally I like using my amps distortion and use a pedal switch to go from clean to distorted.

How to make an ATA case?
Does anyone know how to make an ATA case for transporting speaker cabinets / amps / pedal boards? Or does anyone have any resources that would point me in the right directions as far as what is needed to make them, tools etc.

Not knowing the size you're wanting makes it hard to give much details for building them. Generally you'll need ACX plywood 1/4-1/2 inch thick depending on the size of the box, hinges (aluminum or stainless), riveted aluminum or stainless reinforced channels at panel junctures, riveted aluminum or stainless reinforced corners, same for the latch work, ABS or melamine laminate on all sides, riveted recessed handles if the size permits, rigid or ploy foam interior infill to suit.
